Why this works on almost any recipe site
Most recipe blogs and publisher sites mark up their ingredients, steps, and nutrition in a standard, machine-readable format behind the scenes, the same format Google uses to show recipe cards in search results. Prepful reads that same structure directly, so it isn't guessing at the text on the page, it's pulling the recipe's own data.
If it doesn't work
A few things stop an import: the page sits behind a login or paywall, the recipe is embedded as an image with no underlying text, or the site simply doesn't publish its recipe data in a structured format. If a link fails, try the site's print or "jump to recipe" view, it's usually the cleanest version for import. Got the recipe from TikTok or Instagram instead? See saving from TikTok or saving from Instagram.
