How to save recipes from Facebook

Facebook recipe videos have a way of showing up right when you're hungry and disappearing right after, buried in your feed by the time you're actually in the kitchen. Here's how to keep one.

Share directly from Facebook

The fastest way, ten seconds, no copying or pasting.

  1. Open the video or post with the recipe.

  2. Tap Share, then choose Send via other apps (or the equivalent share option on your phone).

  3. Choose Prepful from the share sheet.

  4. Prepful pulls out the ingredients and steps automatically.

First time on iPhone? If Prepful isn't in your share sheet yet, tap More, then Edit, then tap the green + next to Prepful. On Android, Prepful is already listed there, no setup needed.

Paste the link

Works the same everywhere, including on desktop.

  1. Tap Share on the post, then Copy Link.

  2. Open Prepful, then go to Recipes > Add > Import Recipe.

  3. Paste the link and tap Import Recipe.

  4. Review the recipe, then save it to your library.

Works for both Facebook Reels and regular video posts.

If it doesn't work

A few things stop an import: the post is private or limited to a specific audience, the recipe is never actually written or spoken anywhere in it, or the post's been removed. If a link fails, check that the post is public and genuinely contains the ingredients or steps, not just a photo of the finished dish.

Try it on your next scroll.

Grab Prepful and save the next recipe you see instead of losing it.
