Mealime Alternative

Mealime has shut down. Here's where to go next.

Mealime shut down on October 21, 2026. As of October 22, the app no longer shows up in the App Store or Google Play. Albertsons, which bought it in 2021, moved users to Meals Hub inside its grocery store apps (Safeway, Vons, Jewel-Osco and others). Mealime's recipe pages on mealime.com are still online for now, so you can still save the ones you love. Here's how, and how Prepful compares.

How to save Mealime recipes now that the app is gone

Mealime never offered an export, and its closing notice says personal data is deleted with the app. Its public recipe pages were still online on October 22, 2026, so save the ones you want while they last.

  1. Find the recipe on mealime.com/recipes. Mealime's recipes have their own public pages there.
  2. Copy the page link and paste it into Prepful's Import Recipe screen. Prepful pulls in the ingredients and steps for you.
  3. Can't find one on the site? Look it up in Meals Hub, take a screenshot, and import the photo instead.
  4. Add your saved recipes to the week, and Prepful builds your shopping list from the plan.

Don't remember the names? mealime.com/recipes lets you browse by menu (Classic, Low Carb, Vegetarian, Vegan and more), which is often enough to jog your memory.

If the mealime.com pages go offline later, the recipes themselves still aren't gone. Find the ones you remember in Meals Hub, then screenshot any you want to keep and import the photo into Prepful.

Where Prepful is different

Mealime's diet personalization was more built-out than Prepful's, if a structured meal plan around a specific diet is what you're after. Prepful starts from a different place: the recipes you're already watching and saving on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, turned into a plan, instead of a library of recipes chosen for you.

Meals Hub lives inside Albertsons' grocery apps, so it suits you best if you already shop at one of their stores. Prepful's shopping list works wherever you shop.

Other Mealime alternatives worth a look

Prepful isn't the only way forward. Depending on what you used Mealime for, one of these might fit better:

If most of your recipe ideas come from TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube, Prepful is built for exactly that: save the video, get the recipe, and plan it into your week.

Common questions about switching from Mealime

When did Mealime shut down?

Mealime shut down on October 21, 2026. Albertsons, which bought Mealime in 2021, moved users to Meals Hub inside its grocery store apps. As of October 22, 2026, the Mealime app no longer shows up in the App Store or Google Play.

Can I move my Mealime recipes to Prepful?

Yes. Open the recipe on mealime.com, copy the link, and paste it into Prepful's recipe import. Prepful pulls in the ingredients and steps. You can also import a screenshot of any recipe.

Can I export my Mealime recipes?

No. Mealime's closing notice never offered an export, and it says personal data is deleted when the app shuts down. Its public recipe pages on mealime.com were still online on October 22, 2026, so you can still import those links into Prepful, or screenshot a recipe in Meals Hub and import the photo.

Will my saved Mealime recipes and meal plans move to Meals Hub?

Mealime says your account information doesn't transfer automatically: you sign in to an Albertsons store app and set some preferences up again. Its notice doesn't say saved recipes, meal plans, or grocery lists move over, and it says all personal data is deleted when the app shuts down.

Can I still save Mealime recipes after the shutdown?

Yes, for now. Mealime's recipe pages on mealime.com were still online on October 22, 2026, so paste their links into Prepful's import. Mealime also says all of its recipes are in Meals Hub; if the pages go offline, screenshot a recipe there and import the photo.

Could Mealime import recipes from TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube?

No, none of the three. Prepful imports from TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, any website, or a photo.

Does Mealime have more diet options than Prepful?

Mealime listed 200+ specific diet filters as a core feature. Prepful supports common dietary preferences and adjusts recipes and plans around what you actually like.

What happened to Mealime Pro?

Mealime wound down its paid subscriptions before the shutdown and opened Pro recipes and features to everyone until the app closed. Prepful's import, planning, and shopping list are free.
